Japan is a rich nation, but they are spiritually dead. Less than 1/3 of 1% of Japanese are Christians, and there is only one missionary for every 45,000 people. Obviously, the Japanese need to hear the Word, so who will take it to them, and why have more missionaries not followed the calling to this dark nation?

Well, you can help. A new light has begun to shine in this nation of lost souls, and it began with the Church Planting Institute. Begun over 10 years ago, this organization is centered around it's annual conference, which brings together hundreds of missionaries from over 40 denominations, and every area of the nation. Sounds great, right? It is, but it's can't run itself. Every year, this entire conference is put together by a staff of volunteers, even including it's director, John Mehn, who is himself a full-time missionary. The Christian community in Japan simply does not have the resources to handle the needs of this conference, and they need help.

For the 2004 conference, a team of about 50 people travelled from all over the United States, including Florida, Virginia, Illinois, Missouri, and Oregon, to enable this conference to succeed. No matter what your skills and gifts, you can help spread the gospel in Japan, one of the least reached nations in the world.
