Japan Church Planting Institute (CPI) Mission Project
November 1-11, 2007
Why Are We Going?
Fewer than one evangelical missionary per 45,000 people, and only about half of these are fluent in Japanese language
Most Japanese people have never heard the gospel in any form
Japanese pastors and foreign missionaries operate in spiritual (and sometimes cultural) isolation and have deep need for fellowship and equipping
Major economic and cultural quakes are opening Japanese people to the gospel message as never before in history
CPI Needs Help in Its Strategic Gospel Mission:
Vision: “Advancing God's kingdom by mentoring leaders to be part of a movement that is multiplying churches that are multiplying disciples through the power of the gospel”
Network of missionaries from 90+ evangelical denominations and mission organizations, working together with Japanese pastors … a remarkable unity!
In it’s 11th year, increasing in influence and gospel effectiveness each year
Dual focus of conference is equipping for church planting, and the spiritual renewal of the church planter.
Top church planting experts providing culturally-informed, grace-based teaching, encouragement
CPI’s annual conference this year will likely be the largest gathering of missionaries in the history of Japan – too large for it to provide without our help
CPI has asked us to bring a team to help with logistics, administration and children’s ministry
Strategic opportunity to provide critical support to an emerging church-planting movement in a dark, dry, thirsty nation!
Who Can Help with this Important Gospel Opportunity?
CPI has asked us to bring a team of 60+ people, so that the missionaries and Japanese pastors can focus on learning, worship and networking, undistracted by the details of putting on a conference.
We need:
Children’s ministry leaders
Children’s ministry workers
Nursery workers
People with skills in office work, and/or administration
People with skills in sound and/or lighting
People with skills in PowerPoint
People with skills in video
People with no skills at all (there really is no such person) but who are willing to work at whatever is required (there is lots of this kind of work!)
YOU!
The cost of the trip is projected to be $2,100 per person, to be paid in full by 10/5/05. If this amount seems insurmountable, remember your God, for Whom nothing is impossible, and by Whom are all things were made. It is for Him, and the advancement of His Kingdom that we go. Will He provide for such a mission?
